Negotiated Reality Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Negotiated Reality

When appreciation goes,
Noticebly showed...
By those who take others for granted.
So does their quality of life.
Slowly doing a tilt downhill.
To unbalance thoughts to think,
What appears...
Is where it is to stay permanently.
On impressions to make.
And imitations of the elite.
So untrue is denial and kept delusions.

Reality to observe,
Takes efforts made to endeavor them.
Yes.
And...
Until the ones who leave,
To have done all the work needed.
Decide among themselves,
They would be treated better...
Somewhere else.
And they go.
Where at least the people,
Are respectful enough to say 'hello'...
To those who allowed them to eat.
With a making that to happen,
As if the doing drops out from the sky.

Guess what?
For reality to happen,
Someone everywhere everyday...
Negotiates the occurrence of it!
With the truth of it produced.
And...
Doing it using their mind and time.
Sometimes without thinking to be paid.
While many with high expectations,
Hand in wish lists to demand delivery.
