Never Leave Love To Chance Poem by Katheryn Foley

Never Leave Love To Chance

I got three chances to make it right,
Three wishes to hold you at night,
Now I can't fight when I should,
Aight, I'll leave you be in plain site,

Life is a game of chances and I was lucky,
But I was foolish just as well,
I played you like a card game,
And in the end I fell,
I know it will never be the same,
And I have me to blame.

I cry myself to sleep every night,
But I guess it serves me right,
Because I will never forgive myself,
For now I only have tears to wipe,

I'm afraid to go home because I'll be reminded of you,
I'm afraid to wake up because I will miss you,
I'm afraid to sleep because you will haunt my dreams,
I'm afraid because I can't live without you.
