Nibbling Away Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Nibbling Away

You are in my backyard,
Nibbling away inch by inch...
Property that is mine you wish to claim.
And you expect me not to be offended?
Or approach you to defend my interests?
To then say I am your threat?
You may solicit the media to be on your side,
With deception and lies you've been telling.
However...
If you continue to escalate with choices you make,
What makes you believe I should have none?
My neighbors and I have known each other,
Much longer than you have proven you are foolish.
