Nimbus Clouds Poem by Patti Masterman

Nimbus Clouds

I like how you and me are like
two feathers, unafraid to float
in nimbus clouds, like unshed rain

Not needing to touch down anywhere
not needing a special anything,
just existing in proximity, almost touching-

But never quite together-
for in that way, we are much stronger
than others, who need fine tethers
of gold, and dark suited lines of retainers
to prove there was really something there,
all along.
