No Escape Poem by Ima Ryma

No Escape

Long, long ago I changed my life.
Into the wilderness I went
To escape from 'civilized' strife.
My hut in woods was heaven sent.
And for a while all did go well,
Just me with nature all around.
But then some others came to dwell,
And soon the people did abound.
Day after day bad news unfurled
From various media that
Trespassed on me from 'round the world,
Plugged into my hut habitat.

And now a mini mall does be.
'Civilization' has found me.
