No Less, No More Poem by Barry Van Allen

No Less, No More

I am not a man for prayin',
and I am not a man for sayin',
that I need you,
but, I am prayin' you will stay.

I am just a man for lovin',
I am just a man for workin',
and I am just the man to make you feel,
' THAT ' way!

I'm a man who loves his woman,
I'm a man that's got it comin',
I'm a man no longer runnin' from today.

You are a woman who is torn,
You're a woman who was born to be in love,
You are a woman that was meant to roam,
until you make a home,
with a crazy man like me.

We are two, meant to be one,
we were destined for the sunrise,
for green leaves,
and bright blue skies.

Yes, we have known our share of pain,
but, when we hold us close again,
we know we want to be right here,
when every day is done.

I know that it feels right,
and I am sure it feels good,
to kiss your lips again,
and I think you hoped I would.

To hold you near again,
is always needed for my pain,
... well, O.K., I feel fine,
but, still gazing in your eyes,
is always right.

On the boundaries of our minds,
goes on the ' male - female' war,
Oh! , sure there's plenty wrong,
and yet, there is so much so strong.

We are two people deep in love,
- - - no less, no more.
