No Matter Where You Are Poem by Mark Heathcote

No Matter Where You Are

I've been over a rainbow with you.
I've been to the moon in a refined shadow.
Longing to follow you out of a crater
And walk where the sun can't penetrate.
Or lasso any part of you, not like I do.

I've been on the shores of an endless desert.
I've been somewhere the sea can't swallow.
I've been over all your mountainous wounds.
But I never lost faith in you.
That you would eventually heal.
And I would follow, no matter the distance.

Look, I'm waving from the moon.
I'm dancing on a rainbow with you.
Lassoing the sun, wrestling a shadow
Always ready to follow.
Darling, take my hand and lead me
Into tomorrow no matter where you are.
