No Strings Attached Poem by Simon Chamoun

No Strings Attached

Five beers later that evening wiped my mouth with a tissue
Took an uber home tipsy with 1 thought about a single issue

Smiling for no obvious reason other than her occupation of my mind
I could see nothing else anymore but that mesmerizing smile
Sat outside my door under the starry sky
Poured my heart out in a message and sent it into the night

I told her I'm in love, though I have never met her before
pounced on her heart like a prey my heart being a wild carnivore
wanting to devour all her love leave nothing behind for sure
cage it all greedily in my heart eternally, forever, and evermore

then magic happened she replied to my words
read it over & over & over till my sight faded and eyes blurred
the night skies turned blue the air filled with songs of birds
puzzle of emotions unraveled we solved the Love Crosswords

now the mission is clear the goal is for us to meet
to hold you in my arms hug you, crush you, squeeze
fill my lungs with your scent on my skin feel your heat
fill my ears with your voice flow in one another's arms like a breeze

the hope and prayers are now to get to meet you soon
hold your head in my arms and look in those eyes of brown
whisper the words "I Love You" have the ice of our hearts meltdown
for I know you'll be my smile and forever erase my frown
