No Tengo Que Callar Poem by Ramona Thompson

No Tengo Que Callar

Rating: 1.0

No tengo que callar
You've got to take a stand
Don't just let him decide everything
It's your baby too
Your body, your life, your choice
There's two parents here
Not just one
So please don't let him bully you
Into a decision you may live to forever regret
He doesn't want it
You do
Torn apart
Lovers once so close
Now so very far away
Can't seem to find any kind of common ground
Hurtful words and accusations are being tossed around
Bitterness and regret are simmering
Just underneath the surface
An all out battle is just waiting to boil over
Don't know what you wanna do
You're only 16
Just a kid yourself
Look into my eyes and say
You think you might want to keep this baby
Ten minutes later
You're see-sawing
Going back and forth
Sure and not sure
What do I say in the face of such a terrible mess?
As your alter personality
The other calmer half of you
The only one who truely knows you best
I can say only this
Deep down I really hope that you will listen
Heed this advice
No tengo que callar
You've got to take a stand
