Nocturnal Poem by Mark Heathcote

Nocturnal

Nocturnal - not are we always sleeping
Our hearts are in endless-yearning
Our souls feel destined to student learning
Nocturnal - not are we always sleeping

We've got cares and worries undiscerning
We've got endless problems recurring
We've got nightmares in reserve that we can't resolve
We've got monsters and circling wolves
We've got emergencies needing traversing
But when it's twilight
When it's light, we're conversing with our hearts
We're nursing our souls back to the path
Have you noticed when you've got troubles?
They all run away
Have you noticed when you've nothing more to give
You're left like a crumpled rose
But who knows
When tomorrow glows
Who knows what dark bedclothes we'll burn?
But who knows
When tomorrow glows
Who knows what beauty will burst through our veins?

Nocturnal - stars have fiery arms.
Nocturnal - mountains have spirally charms dusted with melting snow.
And all I'm asking love, is where did you go?
