Nonconformists And Mavericks Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Nonconformists And Mavericks

The process that will most,
Upset to leave many folks disgusted.
Is their own dishonesty.
Baked to taste.
With a thick frosting of hypocrisy.
To expect a digesting,
Of truth to fulfill their need to believe.
Yet...
How could that ever be a possibility.
When deceiving done to do,
Has been more accepted.
As if a tradition.
Than truth to hear unconditionally.
To reject especially from the ones depicted,
Nonconformists, mavericks.
And unpatriotic rebels.
Labelled as 'those' with special interests.
Attempting to affect a way of life.
For purposes to offend the status quo!
Although that 'status' to have it,
Has begun to take a slow nose dive!
