None At All To Display Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

None At All To Display

Why should I pay you any attention at all?
Where are your degrees and certificates,
That qualifies your wisdom and knowledge?

'IF I had none at all to display.
Or wore them like medals,
To convey my achievements...
You'd still be left in doubt,
That my expertise is impeccable.'

And why don't you flaunt your 'incredible'
Abilities?

'I am here to produce to you proof.
If you are seeking to be entertained by pretensions...
You will not find that adorned within these walls.
If you are wanting meaningful conversation,
That will be useful to you AND direct...
You've come to the right place.

Now...
If you want to pay to be deceived,
You couldn't afford to hear what I had to say.
I'd be in your pockets first to know that.
And send you on your way.
Today...
No bling or ca-ching?
Do I have to tell what not having that means? '
