That normalcy wanted.
With it wished to get back.
Has not left to leave to go anywhere.

Many are still,
Living in denial and disbelieving...
Truth to see it.
Heard to hear.
And remain offended to defend,
The right to decide for themselves...
Whether to pay attention to warnings.
Or await to be rescued,
From a fire ignored.

Although choking as the smoke,
Has left most of their neighborhood...
Devastated.

"Why did you folks,
Choose to climb to your roof?
Instead of evacuating?
You had been warned about the fire,
Two days ago."

-We thought it would be,
The normal thing to do.
Since we don't gossip.
Or pay attention to rumors.-
