Normalcy Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Normalcy

A normalcy to describe it.
No longer exist.
And those upset and resist reality,
They still hold onto a past.
Wished for them,
To remain in it.
With minds just as distant.
Fantasized and deluded.
Kept in disbelief,
Their normalcy has become...
A reflection of their nonacceptance.
Yet expecting what they reject,
To have the power that reverses...
These days they have created.
To fade and go away.
Like the changes yesterday they made,
With them to regret...
The possibilities of them to stay.
While they had been conscious to now deny,
What had once comforted their normal lives...
Did not survive,
The lies they've been telling to themselves.
