Not As Brave Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Not As Brave

Taking a risk to admit,
Wrongs one has done.
Consciously to anyone.
Is an act of bravery.
And very few today can say,
They wish to be that kind of hero.

Too many today.
Would rather rush to make excuses.
For whatever misdeeds,
They have chosen to do.
To then test reactions.
From others.
With an innocence to use.
In the hopes their continuing,
To tell more lies to hide behind.
Will be bought and sold to sell.
To those also not as brave.
And familiar with what it takes,
That saves one from an embarrassment.
Whether or not,
This comes for one...
Needing this experience to receive.
