Not Made From Marshmellows Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Not Made From Marshmellows

Obvious it is.
With a more clarity as it nears.
A truth approaching.
To no longer dispute or argue,
What this 'illusion' is.
By those refusing...
The appearance of reality.
Leaving no one familiar with the Sun.
Ignoring or choosing to disbelieve,
The effect and magnitude of it.

"Why do you insist,
Upon playing this trick on me."

-Trick? What trick? -

"You are doing 'something'.
Something to open my eyes to realize,
A hitting my head against a brick wall.
Is not made from marshmellows afterall.
And...
Whatever you did,
So clear I can see and feel that now! "

-That to do you did to yourself.
Whether or not you remember,
I told you long ago...
Truth to accept,
Will eventually become...
Your own personal experience.
Done whenever it comes.-

"Yeah, but...
What about the pain of it? "

-Give it a few days.
Accepting truth,
Will eventually erase...
The painful ways many try to keep,
Their delusions ongoing.
You will discover,
How expensive a price...
To live life that way.-

"I hope so.
I've been doing everything I could,
To stop suffering through these migraines."
