Numb And Afloat Poem by MidnightBlue 12

Numb And Afloat

Rating: 5.0

It's loud and dim lights surround the room
I'm numb and float without direction,
Looking for a sign to exit from this tomb
To breath again and find my safe location.

The sweet sound of laughter coming from the distance
Stoped me where I stand, body froze at open entrance.
From there my eyes searched, with small steps approaching
The back of a tall figure that my senses started breathing.

So close but still so far to catch a glimpse through maize,
Found myself drown into the forest of your gaze.
I shouldn't stay, my mind said 'Run! '
But heart took over and it was done.

With no delay you were beside me,
Your bright presence asking my attention
With brave facade to hide my shaking hands
The whispered words were lost like grains in sands.

One touch is all it took to melt my frozen heart,
You gave me strength and confidence
One look from you and I stood taller in the room.
And there I was, invisible no more.

It was like magic, the energy exudes throughout
There was no way for me now to get out,
You took down the walls with such an ease
That I worked so hard, afraid to let in the breeze.

Oh, how I wished for time to stop that very night
Everything was moving fast, new day, bright light
No sooner than I hoped and it was time to go
Last look, last touch before my heart sunk low.

No one could have foresee there was no second chance
I felt so very lucky, you taught me how to dance.
For one night only you found and opened up my heart
Leaving my safe bubble breaking the hard shell apart.

Why now? Why did they call?
Why did you have to go from all?
With many questions and a shattered heart,
I try so hard to find and get myself to start...

They say it was your time and that you had to leave,
We'll meet again someday, for now I should be brave...
Your life was short and now you've got your wings.
Are you out there watching over us, all beings?
