Shattered And Lost Poem by MidnightBlue 12

Shattered And Lost

Rating: 4.0

We live in this world that can be so cruel,
The wicked just preying on innocent soul
Not sure anymore of what is true or real,
Long gone now is trust, nor safe we feel.

Against all odds we try to change, fit in.
Why don't they see? No one's listening...

Just bow our heads, obey their only rules
So many questions but never an answer.
Don't bother with words, is really no point
The mouth is moving but voices all faint.

On far away lands alone you're breaking
No use for words, silence loud speaking.
With every passing moment still hoping,
My heart is aching, to know your sorrow,
Maybe here today, but gone tomorrow.

Even if they brake you into million pieces,
The bright light would still shine through.
You are physically drained and tired too,
No matter how much they push and hurt
The thought to run away was last resort.

Nevertheless trapped in a keyless prison,
Nightmare's tight grip, easy escape isn't.

If only there is a way to see you up close,
Bring back a smile, warmth on your face.
To keep your heart safe, hold and cherish
The bleeding soul who's voice will parish.

Your wounds go deeper every day adding
Torment from the monsters surrounding,
Heavy chains digging into limbs bruising
The drive from your eyes is clearly losing.

You welcome the pain with no hesitation
Nothing to hold, no hope just resignation.
Just as the dark shadows started to rise
A life force once more opened your eyes.

Why to endure? Nothing left fighting for...
Yet dreaming a life in the cage no more.

One thought it's sure for heart to admit,
There is no tomorrow without you in it.

With everything that life puts in our path
The good and the bad, we both embrace
Still hoping that it's all for a good reason
Time passing, unchanged to new season.
