Ode To Malcolm And Martin Luther King Poem by sydney conteh

Ode To Malcolm And Martin Luther King

My Malcolm says
I will fight
I will fight when you treat my skin like a garden to practice your racism
I will fight your racism with my black beauty
Black beauty watered by culture
Black beauty watered by our struggle
Black beauty is flourishes
Black beauty is evergreen
Black beauty uproots racism

My Martin Luther King says
When people treat you like a garden to practice their racism
Take the flowers they have planted
Use your black beauty to clean that flower
As flowers are always beautiful
But humans can turn them ugly
This is to say
Human nature is about cooperation but society can destroy that

We are all Malcolm and Martin Luther king
Two methods trying to achieve the same goal
Without both black skin will always be advertised
Place racism here
People will continue planting their racism
