Of Just Wonder Poem by VICTORIA HEIM

Of Just Wonder

Of Just Wonder

The scariest part
Of a jump
He says
Is when you're standing
In the open doorway of the plane
Looking down
Checking the altimeter
On his wrist
Reaching the right hand
Down the hip
to pull the ripcord
Former President
George H.W. Bush celebrated
His 80th year
by skydiving onto the grounds
Of his presidential library at Texas A&M
He sent a message to
Older people
You've got a Life
Be as active as you can
With his excorts
Members of the
U. S. Army Golden Knights
Were greeted by cheering crowds
Mr. Bush said to those
Close by
The view is really unbelievable
The most tranquil part
is when you're floating alone
down to earth,
quiet, total peace
It's three minutes... four minutes
Of Just Wonder
