(One)
Oh nightingle sing sweet carols
And let be enjoyed, 'we, ' the little dolls.
Yes, oh nightingle we are the dolls,
As we have forgotten to sing carols.
We want machines and learn mechanics,
Or we are behind yonder politics.
To youngsters the tricks we teach
To fool others and to cheat each.
We let them crush virtues hamanly
Under the bulldozer of mechanics.
(Two)
Oh Nightingle come down from paradise,
And sing to stop this scientific enterprise.
To save the crushing of every thing humane
Making him to surrender to the mechanics.
By your melody you please ask him
To find his own self instead of wine.
The research will be fine
With all it's effects divine.
Instead of machines, the self man will find
And sponteneously carols he will sing.
Poet: Ratnakar D. Mandlik
Yes, with the ceaseless drone of machines, we fail to hear the sweet carols of even a nightingale! We have also forgotten to sing! Our excessive dependence on machines has estranged us from Nature and its beautiful sights and sounds! A meaningful poem!
