Oh, Poets

Oh, poets
How I admire you,
sitting there with your pen and paper
contemplating your words carefully
saying what you really mean
hidden in metaphors and similes

Oh, poets
how I admire you,
traveling through your life
with a different point of view
letting your mind work wonders
while your pen articulates your inner thoughts

Oh, poets
How I admire you
and how your mind works,
you leave the average world behind
while creating works of wonder
with your endless imagination and your gift for writing

Oh, poets
How I admire you,
your imagination runs wild
and your pen and paper catches it all,
you have a beautiful talent,
an artistry in describing what we all see

poet George Gordon Byron

So we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart still be as loving,
And the moon still be as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
