Old Dusty Road Poem by Andy Pandy

Old Dusty Road

I took a stroll
Down the old dusty road
That runs straight through my heart.
And it caught me by surprise when
I lost both my eyes,
And I was paralyzed and froze.

And it seemed kind of strange,
But I wasn't afraid,
As I felt each season change.

And with the darkness came a sense,
That I could finally rest
Without distraction.

I could not show you
How much that I have grown
Since the last time that we spoke.

And I can't cast a stone
With all these broken bones,
So I'll try and let it go.

And even if I don't,
I'll keep walking down this road,
Because we all must go alone.

All I know
Is that everything must go
So that we can start again.
All I know
Is that you can't hold on too close,
Because nothing ever stays.

Sing as the sorrows bleed
Out through my skin!
I can almost see the breeze.
Sing as the sorrows bleed!
For I am certain
That there will be relief!
