Olwen Poem by Roxane Spar

Olwen

Olwen is composed of “Ol” which means “footprint” or “track”
And “Wen” or “Gwen” which means “fair”, “blessed”, or “white”
Olwen was a princess in the Welsh mythology
She lived a long time ago in a land of fairy
White flowers sprung up behind her as she walked
So says the legend that once I was taught

Well, my Olwen is my princess, my happiness
I love her more than one will ever guess
I am proud of her, she’s kind and thoughtful of one another
She draws rainbows, makes jokes, and takes care of her brother
I love her because she always gives her best
I will always love her; she doesn’t need to be the best
Some day she might become a teacher, an explorer, or a ballerina
Whatever she will be, she will remain my Super Star
