On The Clouds Poem by Sunita Chandla

On The Clouds

Once I was sailing on the clouds at a jet speed

For once they were not above me, when I paid heed

Just too white n sturdy, an ocean of fluffy waves

Kept gushing through,   beneath me, to  the white gates

A rainbow coloured horizon appeared on one side

My mouth left opened, the eyes glared wide

Graceful n beautiful a veil  for a newly-wed wife

Couldn't take my eyes off from such a pristine sight

Held my breath carefully,   snug in my carriage

The surge of emotions was not easy to manage

Just how many people get to traverse the sky

Then of them how many experience this High

This universe is too beautiful to be ever ignored

Somehow I wouldn't forget to the scene I soared!

Often on the ground these memories lift me up

Now wouldn't you call it fortune or did I just usurp!
