One Day, Dad Poem by Ember Toton

One day I will run away. One day I will say to you that I need you no more and will move on with my life. One day I will smash the rearview mirror and never look back. One day is the words I say everyday to keep me going so I don’t collapse from all this pain you have and will cause me for that day. I realize that I’m only 16 and still a kid but I’m grown-up in my mind and with eventually will escape this hell you call a family. Dad, one day you will realize how much pain you caused and will notice I’m finally long gone.
