Only After They'Re Gone. Poem by Changhee Lee

Only after they're gone is it that you realize that the emptiness that was filled by their presence is now empty again.

That you miss them for they were dear to you and that you will miss them until that emptyness is once again filled.

Only after they're gone is it that you who was once proud and tall, strong and cold, was changed by the very actions of 'they' without you even noticing it.

How the wonders that they wrought in my life so far amazes me. How the actions of a single human being can be so changing that it had changed even me.

Only after they're gone is it that you realize that you love them even more than you had imagined. That my heart had decided to abandon its master and chase another.

That tears roll down my cheeks as i write this. That the words 'I'm over her' were lies all along and that I still love her. That whatever the world does, they will never be able to take away this love that I have for her.

Only after they're gone is it that you realize that you love them ever more than before.
