Only Human Poem by Jonisha Jones

Only Human

Its always enlightening 4 me 2 meet angels on earth. Those who fascinate u with words worth more than the breath they used 2 say them. Those who swarm you in a plague of their beauty because they are imperfect. More than human because they don't pretend to be aliens to kindness, love, compassion and a different frame of mind. They're way of speaking, thinking intrigues you. Because you wonder where did they come from? and how can I get there? And when you open your heart.. u realize u could of been there all along. You don't have to be in love with them for their words to make your heart skip a beat or in a relationship with them for you to try to make yourself seem worth it in their world. But you can just bask in their halo. And thank them for not forgetting your only human!

Only human indeed. Humans with a view of the world being round. When they remind you that even the curve of the earth is beautiful in itself. Because it is out of place. Causing a strain in the aim for perfection. How mighty of these angels. They they do not judge us harshly. Although they were forced to be here with us as we beat each other down. I'm always enlightened when i meet angles on earth. Because they remind me that I am only human. They spark curiosity in me and force me to be the mouse in an experiment. And they still leave wondering how do i get to where they are. So I'll just bask in their halo. and let them show me the way. And each angel that I come across brushes my heart with her wing. So I'll forever be in her halo and she'll forever lead me in the right direction
