Onus Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Onus

Only those seeking to be evil,
Will begin a confrontation.
And then without hesitation,
Deny their participation.
To put the onus to disown it,
On someone else to accuse.

Only those with evil intent meant,
Berate to belittle.
The good deeds of another.
To have themselves center of attention.
Wanting this to get.
For no other purpose.
But to create devilment.
Hoping it sent in return.

And only evil like this,
Becomes disappointed when ignored.
Displaying more resentment towards,
Silence.
Since those evil who enjoy upheaval,
Seeking to start confrontations to deny.
Can not comprehend.
Or understand why,
An onus they wish to place on another...
That one perceived will take this bait,
Is awaiting and prepared with silence.
Knowing silence to return is what those of evil,
Are seldom expecting it to come and take.
Like snakes who rattle.
But lose the battle.
