Our Children Poem by Kevin Seales

Our Children

Rating: 5.0

Children are our greatest treasure
A wonderful gift of life
They give us joy, they give us pleasure
They even add some spice

What would we ever do
If there were no kids around
This world would end, and so would you
There'd be an empty town

That innocent smile upon their face
I know I would truly miss
No matter the gender, or even race
Let's never let it come to this

Children are so important you see
And the things they do and say
Their future ahead is as bright as can be
As we try to pave the way

Looking ahead is not my style
Life sometimes throws you a curve
A girl not a boy, a stillborn child
And you ask god, 'why do I serve'

So if you have children still at home
Whether a boy or a girl
Make sure your kids don't ever roam
Into a cruel, unforgiving world
