Our Own Holidays Poem by Hebert Logerie

Our Own Holidays

Let's create our own Christmastime
Our own feast, our personal past time
Let's celebrate Noel in May
Let's celebrate Easter in January
Let's fabricate our own history
So we can make-up our own story.

Let's be different
Let's be tolerant
Let's be exotic
Let's be eccentric.

Let's create our very own
Let's start tomorrow at dawn
Let's have Labor Day in November
And Thanksgiving in December.

Let's be creative
Let's stay active
So we can improve things
Listen to the bells, to the rings.

Let's also change the days
Hoping that the sunrays
Will change the sections
In all freaking directions.

Let's create our own holidays
In some months, we'll get three pays
Instead of two. Let's be consistent
Sometimes different and inconsistent.

This year, we're having our own festivals
We're having our own carnivals
Today's children refuse to listen
They want to test their own specimen.
