Our Star Poem by Damian Leonard

Our Star

The stars shone down on the road you had taken,
They followed you on your path and thought, 'him.'
They smiled at your cheek,
They laughed at your wit,
Your 'up to no good' grin made them nervous.
You intrigued them.

Although to us, you belonged down here,
For them, you were too special to ignore.

They plucked you, and your checked shirt, from the bar stool, and said: 'You're with us now. You're a star.'

You're our star. Shining down and cheekily grinning. Patiently waiting for the day we shine, side by side, with you.
