Pain Poem by Chelsea Palma

Pain

Rating: 5.0

Pain
a word most of us know,
a world few of us live in.
The ability to make people feel
as if their existence is all for nothing.
That living has no meaning.
That being able to breath their
last breathe and finally leave this
cruel harsh world known as
reality is a gift all on its own.
But for those that have to go
on living, it is only but a dream
from a far off land in a better
off place, a long corridor with a
big bright light that they can
never reach. So close yet so far.
Slipping right through their fingers,
crushing their dreams of freedom,
putting the cage back up with
extra locks. Never knowing a world
without pain. Never being able
to see the beauty of a world
so harsh yet so beautiful. A world
where only the strong survive, where
the weak are stepped over and spat upon.

What a beautiful and melancholic poem. I feel as if lots of people will relate to this too. It's sort of like a sad song with a slow, eerie, and painful orchestra of violins in the background, setting up the mood for all the imagery that comes to mind while reading this poem. If that makes sense lol

Profound piece of poetry, brave utterances set aside for honest reflection. Very heartfelt! Thanks for sharing. Please do have a look at some of my poems.
