You must have attended several
exhibitions
But this one is unique & beats old
traditions
It is in Russia's Siberiancity of
Novosibirsk
An annual exhibition of paintings
is almost fix
There's a place where paintings are
swapped
With food items of artists' choice
unstrapped
One painting went for 180 kg of
Buckwheat
Another fetched as much as 50 kg
Sugar- a treat
A piece went for Salmon and some
chocolate
One painting of Hindu Goddess of
knowledge
‘Saraswati' was bargained for a slab
of lard
And a rarity we call garlic- to get
Is so hard.

The barter system can work well as a way of 'buying' paintings. Payment in kind.To list paintings going for '180 kg of buckwheat', or '50 kg of sugar' is also irresistibly humorous. A strong point of your poem.
