Past The Window Sill. Poem by Hailey Marie

Past The Window Sill.

Rating: 5.0

I wanted to write so I picked up a pen
Let the words loose and the thought again
I'd rather write in pencil then my words can erase
I can get rid of the ones that I think are lame
My writing is cathoric if you know what that means
The only way I expel feelings so that they can be seen
I wanted just one poem that wasn't only about you
Something creative and witty, the thoughts all brand new
No matter what i write everyone will say it's great
Repeating Brand New chords played on my heartstrings
But this talent is wasted on self inflicted pain
So terrified by first impressions that i forgot to gain
Now my heart is just a muscle that pumps all my blood
My lungs never get clean air im not doing them any good
These hands are thoughtless minions to an ingenious mind
So shallow and yet so deep at the very same time
If you grow up to young there is something you don't learn
To this day I do not know it and every day I yearn
I believe it could solve all my problems in only just one go
If you know where I can find it would you care to let me know
We could go there together, do I show that I am scared
I could never cope with change or dirty laundry being aired
Well I guess I failed again you snuck in this one too
Would I lose every bet trying not to write about you

I love your originality and how your poems may be about the same things you never use the same rhyme twice
