Pause Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Pause

The quickness of tomorrow waves hello
a mere glance behind hastens what’s to come.
Rapid flashes of gladness, never so faint,
tints of reticence form, ever so vague.

Hands clasped tight, I stare at a diffusing distance
time; it glides swiftly with wings so agile.
The door of Ahead remains shut
anxious curiosity for a fading light peeps with caution.

Vagueness of truth and diminishing clues
yesterdays were once present, now is tomorrow’s past.
Handprints of strive and gentle brushes of endearment
exist eternally; oh frolics of constant change.
