Peeping Sun Poem by Archana Ray

Peeping Sun

The Peeping Sun
When the clock struck five
I woke up from a beautiful dream.
My mind was calm and fresh
Like a white Lilly flower.
I looked through the window
Astonishingly it was a fine morning.
For the last seven days
The earth was drenched in water.
Yes, it is monsoon vibes

Nature is engrossed in a hideous mood.
The sun was nowhere to find
Like hide behind the clouds.
I was thirsty for sunlight
Like a hornbill awaits rain.
It was watery and wet all-around
Slippery and cool everywhere.

I longed and prayed for warmth
To ignite my inner self.

Out of the blue my heart filled with joy
As I saw Sun Peeping from behind the clouds.
I felt Sun's rays touched my soul
It spread its arms in warmth.
It surrounded me and pecked a kiss in my cheeks
I blushed as if I was kissed by my lover.
I stood on my feet by my hands wide open
As if I am ready to embrace my love.

The tenderness of the rays surrounded me
And spread around me and further.
It started expanding to the infinity
Only to go back to its destiny.
