Philosophy Of The Snail Poem by Addy Adenawo

Philosophy Of The Snail

Where doth time fly to as it goes by
And why is it in such a hurry
Giving the impression of being late for a whirlwind ride
Leaving us flustered and worried

Why can't it learn from the snail who can't help but be late?
Who crawls along, ignoring the peal of the bell
It drags along its burden leaving a slimy trail
Patient as if it holds time in its shell

It never has to grab every precious moment in time
Simply has to savor each second as it fades after it glows
Knowing each little pull would bring it closer to the end of the climb
It doesn't look up to see how far it still has to go

A loner, patient like no other
With a motto like 'slow and steady wins the race'
Nothing can be taken from a survivor
Good things come to those who wait
