Picture Poem by Raymond Finnegan

Picture

a generation lost in paper and plastic.
marriage and love tricked.

my love binding.
secrets told and held like dreams of our youthful past.
the sharing of moments not forgotten...

like most who walk the lands of this rotting nation.
selfish and unhappy.
they easily forget secrets spoken, words of love shared.

a terrible disease rots within us,
yet we say we are young and have our lives ahead of us.

our lives...can be taken from us in seconds.

we rush for some things we do not need...
when it may be right in front of our own faces.

her smile, her caring words, they will not sound like that coming from somebody else.

shes a rare breed dying,
before God, i vow that she remains forever mine.

the tradition we have left in this world should remain the love we have for those we care and love so much. a marriage faithful and true.
