Poetic Heritage Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Poetic Heritage

What is this thing of which I speak?
Why does it perplex me so?
‘tis an Honour accorded me by some,
Of which I thought you ought to know.

The Title of ‘Poet Laureate’
Is an Honour given to me,
And to other Poets in many Lands,
Who write poems Internationally.

This distinction we Poets do enjoy,
To be Lauded by Poets all,
Is not a Regal Appointment,
But recognition by Poets large and small.

Internationally known in the Poetry World,
With a Heritage left behind when we leave,
Has given a new meaning to my mundane life,
With poems published for all to receive.

These words do come unexpectedly,
Thoughts formed by HIM within my Mind,
To be written down for Posterity,
To be read by all Mankind.
