Poetic Path Poem by Sandra Feldman

Poetic Path

Rating: 5.0

A poet knows what a poet knows,
The light that in his person glows,
The love that in his poem flows,
Must have a Universal pose,
As towards the ideal Stars, he flows.

You highlight LIGHT and LOVE as the key attributes that will lead a poet to the aptheosis of the last line. I like the way you make this heightening of life seem so natural and even inevitable. The confidence in poetic achievement will keep negative things and bad habits from affecting the struggling poet. He won't take short cuts to inspiration like Hart Crane who was so insecure he bludgeoned himself with alcohol and drugs. This poem is like a promise from the Muse - Live a Good Life and I will guide you to your poetic success. I am quietly persuaded.

Tis true that only the poet know what the poet knows and it is a mystery to what inside them flows. Great work Sandra. A 10. :)
