Poetmother Intrigue - Poem by Douglas Scotney
of her own sadness
in her son,
to save the boy
from the exigencies,
that beset her own endings,
and might even
see him choose to become a banker,
taught intrigue amongst all things
and hoped to be spared,
to see how he fared.
