Pretentiousimpression Chasers Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Pretentiousimpression Chasers

Pressure to have had once addressed.
To keep up with appearances.
And impressions made when much younger.
Done before one discovers,
Time does not stop.
Nor does the aging process.
Moisturized or not.
Has its benefits to become aware of this.
And...
That is when,
Acceptable nonsense begins to end.
With it to leave behind unneeded.
Without excuses to make.
Or explanations to offer.

Self indulging in a peace of mind to find,
Is an occurrence remarkably valued.
More treasured than the making,
Of love.
Peace of mind found to have it,
Can not be compared to a satisfying climax.
When it comes it stays forever intact.
Providing more pleasure than being around,
Pretentious impression chasers.
Those socially addicted,
To having their noses frozen as if stuck up...
In the business of others.

Pretentious impression chasers,
Will never have a clue...
What having a peace of mind can do,
Without it displayed to prove a thing!
