Questioning Us Poem by alexa dawn

Questioning Us

-Maybe I found comfort in the words you said, not from laying in your arms. They were the words I needed to hear, and it didn't matter who from. It wasn't puppy love or infatuation or love at first sight or anything that people always talk about and laugh. Maybe you don't know just what I mean. I can't really explain it. It's so hard to put into words. But, well, maybe it was just something I'd never felt before, something I'd never even known. People can't just tell you about things like that. You have to find them out for yourself. That's why it is so important. It was something I'll always remember.Your first love. You know who I'm talking about because I bet you read the words ‘first love' and that one boy came into your mind. There's nothing like the first boy you were so afraid to lose, the boy that changed you, changed your expectations, change the way you looked at yourself and the world, the one that you will compare all other guys to because you know he's the one that set the standards for love. It's probably the wrong time to tell you this, but, well maybe it's the perfect time. I realize how incredibly confusing things are between us right now. I can't even begin to explain our relationship. You probably can't either, but I just want you to know that if you ever need me I'll always be here for you. All you have to do is ask. It's so weird and confusing that when I say I don't know what to do I really mean it. One minute you're making me laugh out loud like no other guy can, and the next I just want to get up and leave because you tick me off so much.I look at you, you look at me. You can't tell me you ain't feeling butterflies. It's obvious there's some chemistry.-
