Reality Check - Poem by Carsten Thomsen

Im greeted with a smile
and a “welcome back”

I check for my usual spot
and finding it available
I sit down

I no longer need to
order
and even remember
beer bringing
waitress’s name

I open the paper
Checks the news

As she passes by
I return her smile
and as she returns
I check her out

As you were
Move along
Nothing special

All is well

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Im home, back to where the bar people know me by name and where I dont even have to order...
