As the angels cried

Gaping wound in the sky
As the angels cried
and God apologised
for his lousy performance
the city drowned
over floating cesspools
drains and sewers
the street floating
a sea of dirt and filth

Seeking refuge in a bar
Idle, empty, drunk talk of politics
People listening to and arguing
over shared opinions
“...God is dead”
someone stated loudly
“People
killing
stealing,
cheating
and lying
- shouldn’t.”
I smiled and said nothing.
Ive learned my lesson

It’s OK
I don’t mind.
