Receptive Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Receptive

This late afternoon breeze...
In the midst of June,
Pleases me.
In a Spring quietness,
As I sit in Elizabeth Park...
Digesting its beauty.
With a peace of mind from it I get.

It is comforting,
In this timelessness at rest.
As I overlook the Rose Garden,
Encircling a loveliness...
Centered by a gazebo set.

'Too much is not enough of this',
I think.
With wishes unrestricted.
I sit,
Receptive.
