Redder Kentucky Poem by Randy McClave

Redder Kentucky

Kentucky is again red
I say that with both sadness and dread,
Once again we are known for greed, capitalism, and immigrant hate
Now again we are a red state.
Soon our Social Security will be all gone
With the wave of the Republican's magic wand,
The Republican's and their party don't really care
As long as big businesses and corporations stay there.
They say that they stand against abortion
Because, that is murdering of a person,
But, they are against gun control and gun rules
And they aren't bothered my mass shootings in schools.
Their big red wave was just a splash
As it was ignited and controlled by green cash,
But, now there will be four more years
And more deaths and poverty and a million more tears.
We could of been caring and helpful and a peaceful blue
But, the politicians and the voters didn't want us too,
I wonder if us voters should storm our state capital
As were tricked and lied to which is their version of applicable.
Our environment will continuously become worse
To defeat it, the Republicans say pray to God about it in church,
And though they say that their party is Christian
The Bible they don't read, and to God they don't listen.
They don't care at all about the needy and the poor
As they and their supporters always graze in a greener pasture,
Now they are wealthy and greedy corporation controlled fatties
And we are the ones stepping in the cow patties.
Once they were proudly known as the party of Lincoln
As he was a true caring beacon,
Now all that the Republicans care about is the wealthy
So, they will always keep them happy and healthy.
I vote for the person and never the party
So, I never vote a straight ticket to which I am not ever sorry,
Now since Kentucky has become redder
We will all now become a debtor.
