Referendum Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Referendum

Too many are painfully,
Awakening these fast to move days.
That those who brought,
All their equipment with them...
To a game that is played.
Would not make any difference,
If the people wanted a change made.
With a replacing,
Of the leader of the pack.
Bringing all they brought,
Done to take it back.
When the people insist,
A better game they wish and want played...
Is what they demand and to get.

"Why can't that kid understand,
We are the people who demanded he leave.
He may had been the reason,
We came to the game to be entertained.
However...
He was not the entire game to be played.
Or of it to win.
To believe his absence,
Would leave us left as losers."

-Be he can not accept,
The people have chosen and expect...
A much better game to see played.
And he and his narcissistic ego ways,
Had to eventually go.
To leave his own followers,
Reluctantly, but not for long...
Also convinced,
They too have had enough of his nonsense.-

"This clearly seems to be,
More of a referendum against him."

-Everyday,
It appears more to be that way.-

"You're kidding?
Is it that obvious? "
