Reflections Poem by David Beckham

Reflections

Rating: 5.0

It’s only normal that I carry a mirror around
How else am I suppose to look at my reflections
How else are you suppose to spot the difference?
Spot the difference?
There is no difference!
The split image bears a same semblance to non other than me
The reflections …
Not the mark of the beast
But I am forever scarred by my past of which my present is a reflection of
And that’s a Fact!
My life in the present
A metamorphosis
Snowballed into one organic matter
Me!
Never am I without a shadow-unless the sun is not out
Never am I without an angel- unless there is no God
Never am I without expressions –unless of course death
I build from down up
From those depths come my emotions
Like the magician with the rabbit in the hat
I reach deep into my heart
And out comes things I want to share
If I go cliché, I’ll write a poem on, love, betrayals, sex, marriage, etc
No, this one is different
Just plain reflections
Take my words for it
My words are my expressions
Of my unique visions
Revised over and over
For me
For your satisfaction
To poke your intuition
And if I did this right
I should aid your relaxation
The tense and the style
Is me
The meaning and the value
Are yours
A guardian of the truth I remain
Spoken with honest intention
And blinding attention...
To details that mirror my reflections
Deride of false pretense
Always!
Feel the emotions as I connect the dot
Spot the difference as we share in the same knowledge
Be it, of this prose, or poem
Fiction or non
Honesty, remains my best policy
And I bring it to you
Like a mirror would
My reflections
